Hello! I am Carlee Criddle and I have a passion for writing wholesome and inspirational action-adventure stories in both the YA and Adult Medieval Fantasy genres.
Currently, I have a YA twisted fairy-tale mash-up furthest in progress, a delightful and lighthearted story inverting and alternatively intertwining elements of Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Cinderella and just a sprinkling of Sleeping Beauty (if you can discover it😄).
I am so excited to be working toward publishing this novella at long last!
For the future, I have several Adult Fantasy novels in various stages waiting to be finished. From the research I did for them last year, (both fascinating and exhausting, and now I’m sooo knowledgeable 😉) I have decided on a setting reminiscent of the early 1300’s.
Why? No guns were invented yet. Some privacy had been achieved in lodgings. The hairstyles are something I can accept making my characters endure… And sooo much more!
As to my other interests and quirks, I highly enjoy the outdoors and love reading and jigsaw puzzles (ones including animals please!). I am a professional cleaner, organist and cantor, and a slight lyricist. Beyond all that, I am absolutely devoted to my faith and family, especially all those who award me “Godmother” and “Favorite Aunt” status and make my world so incredibly bright. 🙂
I have been published in the Heartland Writers Guild and Southeast Missouri Writers Guild Confluence Anthology, and I was president of the SEMO Writer’s Guild for six years from 2019-2024. There I took special joy in sharing my talents with my fellow writers and revivifying the Guild. Currently I am a member of the ACFW and their local chapter in Festus MO.
What sparked me into writing? My mind loves wrestling with the deep mysteries and complexities of life, and to engage with them through the perspective of those challenged utterly to their core.
